The original structure of this guesthouse was an old barn-style building that the previous owner had used as a studio for painting. The remodel was extensive; it included major modifications to the exterior and created a mezzanine space for the interior. Once the guesthouse was completed, the owners liked it so much that they found it difficult to leave even after construction of their primary residence was finished. A bedroom loft and skylights looking directly into a canopy of oak trees make this guesthouse feel like living in a tree-house.
